Discover Chuikhim & Yellbong:

Chuikhim is a small village in Kalimpong district located on the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas at 3500feet, away hue and cry of urban civilization. This wonderland is nestled on the slope of the mountains and amid strikingly beautiful, lush green tea gardens and pine forestes. The valley which is set in the backdrop of mountains is bathed with mist and clouds. The valley gradually slopes down to the riverbed of Lees River.

The name Chuikhim is derived from Lepcha language, which means "a place to rest". In the past this village was home to the people of Limboo tribe but at present it is mostly inhabited by the tribal people of Gorkha, Tamang, Gurung, along with some people from Lepcha and Bhutia tribes. The main sources of livelihood of the locals of Chuikhim village are agriculture and cattle breeding. By the stern efforts of the residents of the village of Chuikhim, recently it is declared as an alcohol free village.

The main adventure trek starts from here which combines rappelling, Swimming, Bouldering, scrolling in a cave, River crossing and many other terms of the adventure course.
